The Lee Enfield Mk I was adopted by the British Army in 1895, pairing James Lee's rear-locking bolt and detachable magazine with Enfield's rifling for the .303 British cartridge. Long-barrelled early rifles like this one carried volley sights for long-range massed fire, a feature that marks them out from later patterns. Many survive today in need of new woodwork, and this set is cut to bring them back to life.
