Solid walnut Buttstock, used for restoration for original stocks, these parts require minimal fit up and final sanding, shipped in raw wood with no finish to allow you to do full raw fit up and the finish sand and seal. Typical finishes used are boiled linseed oil or tung oil. For your safey, we Highly recommend the fit up being done by a professional gun smith. Usually ships in 5–7 business days.
Wood only; no metal parts included. Gunsmith fitting recommended.
B-grade parts are made to the same spec as A-grade. Sometimes milling reveals a knot or check that couldn't be seen in the blank, so we sell those pieces at a discount.
These are the same caliber of stocks as our "A" grade stocks but have a chip or a small void or knot, we supplied pictures of typical blemishes that happen and we grade them to "B" grades. What you receive will be internally accurate but has a cosmetic flaw that can easily be fixed, but we cant sell them as our "A" grade, and we dont want to see the beautiful walnut go to waste.
About the Lee Enfield No.1 Mk III
The SMLE Mk III was adopted in 1907 as a refinement of the earlier Mk I and became the standard British and Commonwealth rifle of the First World War. It kept the Mk I's overall layout, so many wood parts such as the buttstock carry over between the two.
