About the Lee Enfield No.1 Mk I The Mk I Short Magazine Lee Enfield arrived in 1904 as a shorter rifle meant for both infantry and cavalry. Its full-length woodwork and blunt nose cap set the look for the later Mk III, which refined the design for mass production.
