Restore your Lee Enfield No.4 Mk I with this precision-milled lower forestock, crafted from solid walnut and supplied unfinished for accurate final fitting, sanding, and sealing.
Cut to original World War II-era dimensions, this lower forestock preserves the correct profile, channeling, and bedding surface for museum-grade restorations or collectible display rifles. It replaces the main lower fore-end wood beneath the barrel on the No.4 Mk I pattern. (Metal fittings, bands, screws, and barrel assembly not included.)
Era / Historical Context
The Lee Enfield No.4 Mk I entered British and Commonwealth service around 1939 and was widely used throughout World War II and into the post-war years. This replacement forestock reflects mid-20th-century British ordnance craftsmanship, making it ideal for authentic WWII-era display builds and restoration projects.

I ordered two Lee Enfield no. 4 forestocks in walnut. Both are excellent. One even had a bit of tiger stripes. I was saving a NOS butt stock with some tiger stripping which was paired with one of the forestocks. This one was put on a late WW2 Savage. The second one went on a late WW2 Long branch. I matched the forestock with original Canadian wood. The internals where action and barrel sits is excellent, no fitting needed. Fitting was needed on each side of the action for it to bottom out. Trigger guard area needed minor fitting on both. The largest area of fitting is draws and rear of forestock where you want extra wood so you can perfectly fit them to your rifle. Extra wood on the exterior needs to be shaped and brought down to be even with the metal. The amount of extra wood allows some shaping. I’ve had 4 of these forestocks so far and everyone has been excellent. The real test will come when I shoot them. The previous two will group 5 rounds into 1 1/4” at 100 m. Properly fitted these forestocks work excellent and look good finished with Tung oil. Best recommendation I can give is that I just placed an order for another.
Nice walnut, made with just the right dimensions to fit properly, with of course a bit of extra wood for tight fitting.
I understand that work is needed before final job, I accepted that before ordering.
