Have Questions?
It`s a bit long at the base where it meets stock so I`ll have to sand a bit but other that that It looks pretty good.Just trying to find the time to dedicate to fitting it properly. Question, it`s walnut correct I`m thinking of staining or boiled linseed oil the butt stock is pretty dark. What`s your reccomendation for closely matching the 2 ????
Nice straight lower forestock to replace warped stock on my match N0.1
Clean milling! Enough extra wood for a tight match fit at the rear!
It amazes me as I work on my second restoration, using your walnut, just how closely these pieces are machined to fit the No1 Mk3 barrelled action. After fitting the forend 'draws', and trigger guard, the front guard screw aligned perfectly. Several coats of raw linseed oil turns this wood into a nice reddish brown colour, just like the original. I definitely recommend these stock sets for your Enfield resto.
Very well made. Beautiful workmanship. Highly recommended.
Excellent product, it did require quite a bit of work fitting it but I have woodworking experience and the tools needed and it was a fun project. The walnut was in great condition and after finishing it mached the other wood parts of my Enfield perfectly.
100% satisified!
